Central Texas Table of Grace Secures $2 Million Mabee Challenge Grant for New Foster Care Campus

Community support helped the nonprofit unlock $2 million in funding to expand residential care and transitional housing for foster youth

ROUND ROCK, TX, UNITED STATES, November 4, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Central Texas Table of Grace (CTTG) has successfully met the fundraising requirements to unlock a $2 million challenge grant from the J.E. and L.E. Mabee Foundation, marking a major milestone in its $15.3 million capital campaign to build The Campus. With approximately $800,000 remaining to reach its fundraising goal, CTTG is closer than ever to bringing its vision of a comprehensive foster care community in Round Rock to life.

The Campus will bring together residential care for children in foster care, transitional housing for young adults aging out of the system and ongoing support services designed to provide stability, connection and a sense of belonging.

Established in 1948, the Mabee Foundation supports nonprofit capital projects through a challenge grant model that encourages communities to invest in projects that address critical needs.

Thanks to the generosity of CTTG’s Circle of Grace supporters and the broader Central Texas community, the organization met the challenge, bringing it closer to creating a comprehensive campus that provides foster youth with residential care, transitional living and long-term support.

“When I founded Central Texas Table of Grace, I wanted to create the stability and support I needed growing up in foster care. Meeting this challenge shows what our community can accomplish together, and I’m incredibly grateful to the Mabee Foundation and our Circle of Grace supporters for believing in our mission,” said Stacy Johnson, founder and CEO of Central Texas Table of Grace. “This campus is about creating a place where young people belong, have people they can count on and receive support beyond age 18. Every child deserves that kind of community.”

Plans for The Campus include a 15,000-square-foot residential facility with 20 beds and 24 individual living units for young adults transitioning out of foster care.

The Campus will feature three key components:
-Under 18 Home: A safe, loving home for children in foster care, providing residential care and consistent support during critical stages of childhood.
-SIL Apartments: Supervised independent living apartments for young adults transitioning out of foster care, offering housing and support as they develop the skills needed for independence.
-The Comprehensive Campus: A community-centered environment designed to foster connection, relationships and ongoing support for young people throughout their journey.

Together, these spaces will allow CTTG to provide consistent care and support as foster youth transition from childhood to adulthood, helping young people build lasting relationships and greater independence.

Johnson, who spent 14 years in foster care before becoming emancipated at 16, founded CTTG in 2014. Her firsthand experience continues to shape the organization’s approach to providing consistent, long-term support for foster youth.

With the Mabee Challenge Grant secured, CTTG is preparing to move forward with the construction of The Campus in Round Rock. Once complete, the project will expand the organization’s ability to provide comprehensive care for children in foster care and continued housing and support for young adults transitioning into independence.
